VP – Digitalization & Innovation

Job Purpose

As a recognized leader, the Head of Digitalization & Innovation is responsible for the leadership and execution strategic direction, technology roadmap, establishes organization, and plans Function’s budgets and programs. He/ She oversight of the digitalization initiatives/activities, management and delivery of the digital innovation & solutions. Identify, lead and manage innovative approaches to business challenges and work with teams across the business functions to deliver customer centric products and services that generate revenue and profit. The incumbent is also responsible for stimulating an environment for innovation to lead new thinking and nurture new ideas from concept, through the pilot, and into the mainstream activity.

VP – Digitalization & Innovation would be the focal point within the Company to lead on digitalization and innovation, looking at the overarching vision and objectives to be achieved with digitalization. VP – Digitalization & Innovation would align and execute the digital and innovation strategy and operationalize it. Design the digital transformation roadmap that enhances current processes, incubates new digital innovation programs that add incremental value to the bottom line. Identify and build external partnerships with vendors, partners, and customers to bring in expertise from the outside. Working closely with senior leadership and presenting to the Board of managers. The incumbent needs to collaborate with senior stakeholders in different business units. Defining holistic digitalization strategy and supervise the implementation of the digital project portfolio. The incumbent must ensure that the organizational capability, infrastructure, and people embrace the change journey.

Additionally, this role may be responsible for leadership and oversight of multiple research teams and interactions with strategic partners and universities

Key Accountabilities

  • Within directions provided by SVP – Corporate services, the incumbent undertakes studies, develops programs, and plans for digitalization initiatives. The programs and projects that require regular interaction with all business functions and the departments involved in planning and implementing digitalization initiatives are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Develop and execute the digitalization roadmap and innovation strategy to replace physical solutions with digital ones and deliver new revenue streams for the business.
  • Ensure that all relevant digital initiatives are aligned with corporate strategic plans.
  • Understand digital trends (AI, IOT, RPA, cloud technologies, blockchain architecture, etc.) and forward-thinking technologies to address challenges across the digitalization roadmap.
  • Evaluate, develop, and where appropriate, support, exploit intellectual property, effectively working with other functions within the company along the innovation pathway, from the conception of innovation through to its eventual commercialization, adoption, and dissemination, where required.
  • Collaborate with all business functions involved to ensure digital solutions are incorporated into their operational strategies.
  • Work closely with the Information Technology and Information Security functions to ensure that fundamental business information processes support the needs of the evolving digital solution strategy.
  • Manage and monitor the digital innovation project portfolio and management dashboard.
  • Provide clear guidance on matters relating to intellectual property and its management as they arise and work closely with the legal function to ensure the best interests of the company are preserved.


Minimum of bachelor’s degree in IT/Computer, Science, Business or Engineering

Professional Qualifications

Shipbuilding, Rig Building, Offshore industry experience with major technology providers, technology developers, or Shipbuilding Industry


Ability to work independently and under tight time pressures – planning, prioritizing, and controlling own workload.


15+ years of progressive professional experience, including at least 5 years as a specialist with full responsibility for supervising major digital transformation work, gaining recognition as a leading expert in Shipbuilding digitalization fields, such as digital twins, big data, machine learning, programming, prototyping, AR/VR, mobile development, and/or AI.


Fluent in written and spoken English Language, Analytical Skills, Communication
