Role: Project Manager – Highways Schemes
Location: Buckinghamshire
Are you an experienced Project Manager with a background in Highways Maintenance and a record of successfully leading teams delivering on local Authority Highways schemes? Are you looking for an opportunity to Manage a portfolio of schemes within a highly successful Regional Delivery team of a tier 1 market leading contractor?
Within this newly created position, my client is looking to bring in an experienced Project Manager to provide clear and effective leadership and line management of the team. They will be responsible the delivery for varied and interesting highway projects through Alliance Frameworks and Self Delivery Schemes.
The ideal candidate will have experience of Highways Schemes or come from a similar Civils background.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
On a day to day basis you will be responsible for:
- Lead and manage the Major Schemes team of Project Managers and Supervisors.
- Work closely with the design and client project management teams.
- Preparation, administration and checking of contracts, risk assessments, method statements and reports.
- Ensure all projects comply with health and safety legislation.
- Effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders.
- Encourage and mentor apprentices or graduates.
Essential:
- Chartered Engineer preferred with experience in civil engineering and highways.
- Knowledge and working experience of NEC contracts and law.
- Line management experience.
- SMSTS card holder preferred.
- Knowledge of Highway Authority and Local Government policies.
- Strong Commercial and Contractual knowledge.
- Experience of dealing with Contractors.
