Production Manager – New Build Rigs

To lead all production related functions and operations within Zone D and ensure that all are completed safely,

efficiently and in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be a visible and vocal safety leader and safely execute Zone D operations with full compliance to the HSEQ safety standards and procedures resulting in zero harm to our workforce or environment
  • Deliver high productivity by the optimal use of manpower and production monitoring. Lead and support teams in resolving operational problems that may impact productivity. Implement best practice construction techniques that ensure high productivity; maintain and implement Lessons Learned to optimize production efficiency and processes
  • Ensure construction and project schedules are met and provide early warning of potential production delays
  • Devise and implement recovery plans if delays are forecast
  • Monitor allocated budgets and deliver within them. Using constant manhour measurement ensure budgets will be met, provide forecasts to completion and provide early warning si potential budget overspends. If required support the development of annual budgets
  • Plan and allocate yard workshops and areas, equipment and manpower to effectively execute multiple concurrent construction projects. Ensure availability and correct use of equipment, material, and consumables
  • Quality – Closely monitor production activities and ensure quality KPIs and related goals are met. Adopt and lead a first-time right culture that minimizes rework and ensures production output is in line with method statements, approved drawings and standards. Lead production team in resolving operational problems
  • Set out exceptional teamwork, communication and team performance. Set the standards, build trust and provide effective leadership. Supervise and evaluate job performance and takes accountability for supervisors and tradesmen performance. Establish, assign and communicate job responsibilities for assigned employees. Promote good communication between all departments and yard facilities
  • Develop and train assigned staff to be competent, effective and accountable. Transfer knowledge and expert skills in fabrication processes and principles (Welding, cutting, pressing, gas/plasma cutting works, fit up work etc.) to enable teams to become proficient and deliver objectives. Teach fabrication techniques and work standards ensure compliance with relevant codes and rules (API, ASME, Classification Societies)
  • Perform other job-related duties as needed to ensure production schedules and quality standards are attained
  • Promote and enforce the adoption of company policies, processes, systems, standards, and procedures in order to execute work in line with company and international standards.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Knowledge In: Engineering Project Management ,Fabrication and Construction Methods, Construction Engineering ,Welding and Manufacturing Processes, Design and Detail Engineering, Relevant international standards including ASME, API, ANSI, BSI etc., Contracts and Legal Requirements, Planning and Scheduling, Health Safety and Environment management, Construction Documentation, Estimating and Quotation
  • Skilled In: Problem solving, Situation Management, Negotiating and resolving conflicts, Documentation management, Interpersonal communication, Man management, Project cost control, Team building skills, Planning, and execution
  • Achieving Outcomes: Work Planning, Executing Activities, and Using Targets
  • Managing Issues: Determining Root Cause and Positioning Judging
  • Managing Complexity: Creating Orderliness, Working to Standards and Optimizing Process
  • Creating Value: Realizing Value, Pursuing Improvement, and Extracting Value from Information
  • Establish Product Quality: Leading, Team working, Communicating, Resolving and Competing Personal Demands

  • At least 15 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Construction Industry.
